Hydrate vs Hindsight (Vectorize)

personal memory

MECHANICALLY THE CLOSEST competitor: auto-recall injects as additionalContext pre-prompt (= Hydrate read path), auto-retain after each session, + shared team memory via bankId. But Codex-scoped, hosted cloud, not cross-vendor-live or canon-with-attribution.

Hindsight is, mechanically, the closest tool to Hydrate we have found: it injects recalled memory as additionalContext before the prompt and auto-retains after each session, Hydrate's exact read/write shape, and it has a shared team mode. The difference is narrow and specific, and worth stating precisely: Hydrate is cross-vendor live (a Claude-written fact reaches a Codex agent in the same sequence), its canon propagates with attribution over a git remote you control rather than a shared cloud bank, and it is local-first and offline-capable. "Automatic injection" alone no longer separates the two, those three lines do.

Verification notes

CLOSEST competitor on mechanism (pre-prompt injection + auto-capture + team mode). Resolves name question: Hindsight = Vectorize. Differentiation is NARROW and specific: cross-vendor-live + canon-with-attribution + local-first. Marketing must draw exactly these lines.
